Which Affiliate Programs Generate The Most Money?

Any affiliate program can earn you a lot of money. It's about finding programs that fit YOUR niche.

Affiliate Marketing for your Personal Training Business

By Mikel Bruce

Very few PT companies have ever considered using affiliate marketing as a tool for generating revenue for their business. As an affiliate, you can sell products for another business and get commissions for each sale and in some cases the commissions can be as high as 50% and you will never need to stock inventory, process any financial transactions, or service any clients. In most cases, the efforts on your part are nominal since the process typically consists of adding a link from your website to a website in which products are being sold and then when someone purchases a product having come from your site, you will get compensated. The Affiliate Marketer is responsible for tracking the traffic from your website. Mikel Bruce with Webflexor PT Websites www.websitesforpt.com

recommends affiliate marketing to his clients as one of many tools to build credibility for their websites.

Other reasons why training businesses get involved in affiliate marketing:

* Add additional revenue streams to your business.

* If you want to offer products to your clients but don’t have the time, money or effort to put together a product line.

* You can represent a wide variety of companies and/or product lines.

* Being an affiliate can give clients another reason to re-visit your website.

* You can become an additional resource for your clients.

* If you are taking the time to drive traffic to your website you can benefit in another way by (sentence unfinished)

When choosing companies to represent you as an affiliate, you want to take your time and make sure that you feel comfortable with their products. You want to ensure that they have an active affiliate program and are able to reliably track traffic that comes from your site. Most reputable affiliate marketers have affiliate marketing software that effectively tracks affiliate sales. Additional precautions to consider when evaluating acting as an affiliate for affiliate marketing companies are:

* Carefully read the terms and conditions of an affiliate agreement before signing on as an affiliate.

* Be wary of affiliate programs that pay less than fifty percent commission.

* It is quite normal to join most affiliate programs for free, after all you are selling their products, so be warned about those that ask for a membership charge.

* Make sure that they are able to provide regular (monthly or less) affiliate reports as well as pay affiliate checks on a monthly basis.

What is Multilevel Marketing?

By Janice Jenkins

Multilevel marketing is a very touchy subject in the business world. Many people, when they hear the term multilevel marketing, immediately think, “pyramid scheme”, which is a very negative connotation. And while some multilevel marketing companies are perfectly legit and can provide decent residual income to participants, the pyramid scheme description is not completely inaccurate.

In general terms, a multilevel marketing program is one in which individuals are signed up, usually online, to become commission only salespeople for the parent company. They either sell directly to customers or, more commonly, have their own website or blog on which they place ads for the parent company. When customers click on those ads and then buy a product, the commission only salesperson makes a commission on the sale. This is also commonly referred to as affiliate marketing.

Affiliate programs have become wildly popular in the past few years. There are many ads and articles out there claiming that you can make a fortune by being an affiliate for a company. The truth is, while making good income through a multilevel marketing program is possible, it is not as simple as some make it sound.

One thing that many people who are excited about becoming an affiliate do not understand is that they have to do virtually all of the “sales” work themselves. It is, in a very real sense, becoming a salesperson, which many people have no interest in. While there may not be any literal door to door sales involved, it is the internet equivalent of that, in that you have to persuade people to come to your blog or site, and then entice them to click on your ads. You truly have to sell yourself (through your blog or site) in order to succeed in an affiliate program.

The second trap that some people fall into is recruiting other people to become affiliates for them. In other words, they ask people to add links to their blog or site, and if customers then buy products through their ads, they share the commission with their own recruit. This is they very definition of a pyramid scheme, but is often subtly encouraged by the parent companies.

With all that being said, however, there are perfectly legitimate opportunities of this type out there, you just have to do some research to find them. As a general rule of thumb, the larger the company, the more likely it is that there program is legitimate and could bring in some extra cash for you. That is, however, a very general rule of thumb and should not be taken for granted.

The best way to find out if a company’s affiliate program is for real is to talk to other affiliates for that company. Most companies are willing to give you the names and contact information for some of their most successful partners. In fact, if a company refuses to do so, you might as well refrain from doing business with them right then and there. Get the names of some successful affiliates for a company and contact them. Find out how easy the program is to use, how hard it is to achieve success, and even try to get some hints from them, although they may be reluctant to tell you too much, since you will basically be their competitor.

Also, ask the company itself for additional information. Again, responsible companies usually have no problem doing this. In fact, the best companies even invest in booklet printing to write up a detailed description of their program and how it works. They will gladly send you a booklet for free, which you can look through and get a good idea of how successful the program is. If the company has invested in booklet printing, however, the chances are good that they are legit.

So if you are interested in becoming an affiliate, go for it…but do your homework first. There are as many failures waiting to happen as there are successes, so it would behoove you to be as informed as possible.

Strategic Marketing For The Mainstream Audience

Many online marketers are so successful with selling programs and MLMs to other internet marketers that they build whole careers out of this. Trouble is, they never actually sell to the mainstream audience, other than those programs. In fact, when new marketers begin working online, it's easy to understand why some start thinking online marketing is "all a scam" simply because most of the marketing and marketing tools are so focused on marketing programs-- and there's very little advice on actually marketing a regular product to the mainstream audience. In a way, mainstream marketing could be compared to "niche marketing" and it does share some of the same characteristics. However, the key difference is defining the audience. By definition, a niche is a small pocket or group of potential customers. But product sales are often too broad-based to fit into any one niche. But there ARE several effective ways to market to the mainstrain that are both free and effective. And, to some extent, niche marketing is one type of marketing that can be very effective for this, too. To get started, there are a few important steps to take.

STEP ONE:

FORGET YOU'RE A MARKETER The first and most important thing for a marketer to do when promoting a product is to forget 90% of their usual marketing strategies and think, "outside the bun." Forget traffic exchanges and safelists almost entirely because, while they are good for promoting opportunities (or the affiliate side of a product), the fact is, that particular audience is not as interested in actual goods. And, as any marketer knows, success is a matter of bringing the product to its audience. While it could be argued that, "marketers are people, too" the fact is, their mindset while working is not on personal interests. If you don't believe me, ask anyone who has ever tried to sell craft items at a garage sale-- different market, plain and simple. Even though it's the same people, their thinking and expectations are just different. While other types of standard marketing can be used they must be modified in order to effectively market a product. These include forum marketing, article marketing and, to some degree, opt-in email marketing. Plus, there are quite a few practical online locations that can prove very effective, when used correctly. These are discussed in more detail below.

STEP TWO:

CONSIDER THE PRODUCT Common sense tells us to put our product before its most likely audience. So the next step is to define that audience in real terms. For instance, if your product is aromatic candles, it is less effective to sell them on a generic site than on a site for home improvements or home design or just about any site directly related to women's issues (no offense ladies, but you are the most frequent purchasers of this product). On those sites, the aromatic candles will sky-rocket. Or, suppose the product is audio books. In a case like this, the fact that this is a broad-spectrum product with mass appeal may actually work against the promoter-- because it's too general. So, to offset this, rather than promoting the whole audio books site, find two or three audio book titles that will suit a given forum or site perfectly-- and just promote those at that site. Then, through that, customers will learn of the entire site and all the titles offered.

STEP THREE:

DEFINE YOUR AUDIENCE As mentioned above, finding the right audience is crucial. To do that, defining the audience is the next very important step. The best way is to think of who is most likely to purchase that product. As with our aromatic candles example, the obvious focus is anything related to women, home design and decorating, since these are the basic characteristics of the product. So begin by thinking of who would be most likely to use the product. But some products' audiences are not as easy to define. As with the audio books, they are so broad, that it becomes a matter of needing to create a niche. But, from another perspective, being that broad, one could adapt the product to a marketer's own taste. For instance, if a given marketer is involved with horses and, when they're not marketing, they spend a great deal of time on horse forums and at various horse-related sites, then by focusing on horse-related audio books and putting together a group of links to those books, this would create a focus-product for that niche.

STEP FOUR:

A MARRIAGE OF PRODUCT AND AUDIENCE By understanding the audience for a given product, the final step is simply a matter of bringing them together.

A. Article Marketing For instance, with our aromatic candles writing an article about using the perfect knick-knacks or about how lighting or aroma can affect a mood would be a great way to promote it. With our broad-spectrum products, audio books, promoting them either on audio sites, download sites or, by focusing on one genre of audio book (for instance, our horse books), one could write an article about horse care or riding lessons... and put a link to a special page with all types of horse- and equestrian-related audio books. There are quite a few specialty newsletters on the internet. In fact, there is one for just about any particular interest. Should there NOT be a newsletter for a particular article/product, then that's a perfect reason to create one. Just remember to offer real content on the topic and, voila`!

B. Solo Ads Another great way to promote a product on a newsletter is by buying solo ad space. Many offer space for a fee, just like an offline newspaper. And, of course, when creating an original newsletter, the extra effort is off-set with free solo advertising.

C. Effective Blogging For marketers that don't have their own site, a blog is the perfect solution. But, again, the blog should be about an interest that will encourage others to go there-- NOT about the product itself. (Remember? Forget you're a marketer!) And, while visitors are browsing the site, it just so happens that there are 12 links to various products in the side column, all conveniently related to the blog topic. (Google's Adsense has been getting us to do this for years... it's time we did this for ourselves.)

D. MySpace Another way to promote products is by joining "MySpace" or one of its clones. But, again, it is better NOT to make the space ABOUT the product, rather about an interest that others who would buy the product share. (For anyone unaware of Myspace, it is a sort of a ultra inter-active blog. Originally created by and for the music industry to help new artists promote their work, teenagers were the first to discover and utilize it. In the last 2+ years since its inception it has mushroomed into a kind of "catch-all" for any type of networking.) Myspace members can create blogs, their own groups, forums, etc., all of which can be focused on just about any given topic.

E. Craig's List This is an especially nifty concept (not yet purchased by Google, at least, at the time of this writing), because it's so simple. It is a very localized, specific free classified ad system. But it's having a huge impact on marketing, especially product-based items.

F. Offline Marketing Marketing a product offline is sometimes easier than it is online. NOT that one would pre-buy the product and then try to re-sell it (although some programs actually function like this). Recognising this, many product-based-programs create downloadable/printable media and advice for sales in such places as : work, friends, via school fund-raisers, charity events, flea markets, etc. Most products are viable in all these areas. In the case of something that is exclusive to the internet, such as the audio books, simple flyers and business cards, all promoting the site can be strategically placed anywhere that people would wait -- everything from laudromats to doctor's offices (asking permission, of course). There really are plenty of ways to promote a product to the mainstream. The trick is to do it, after spending so much time learning to think like a marketer, remembering what it's like to think like a regular end-user again.--mo

Affiliate Programs..A Good Place to Begin

By :William J Thomas

The Internet is great! Each and every day I receive at least ten emails from an agent of some distant relative in Nigeria who recently died and left me ten billion dollars or so, and since I'm the only surviving heir they would love to send me the money if I would only give them access to my bank account. Considering that I'm of German ancestry, and Nigerians in general seem to look a lot different than my blue eyed, blond haired ancestors, I sort of figured they all might be trying to hose me. While the Internet is indeed rife with scams and fast buck hustlers, there are many legitimate ways to earn money on the Internet. One of the legitimate ones is Affiliate Marketing. This article will give you an overview of affiliate programs, and tips on finding the right affiliate program for you.

Affiliate Marketing is a good starting point for those just getting their feet wet in the world of Internet Marketing. There are literally thousands of affililate programs that you could join. In fact, in doing a Google search for 'Affiliate Programs' it came back with ten million, three hundred thousand results! Since most of us don't have three lifetimes to evaluate the thousands of available programs, you need to be able to narrow your search and focus on affiliate programs that offer you the greatest earning potential. What are some of the most important things to consider when looking for an affiliate program? When considering various affiliate programs, one of the most important factors is deciding on what kind of products to promote. While the scope of affiliate programs are too numerous to list, they basically come in two different shades; Those two basic types consisting of 'real' material products and electronic digital products and services such as autoresponders, and ebooks. Actual physical products such as apparel,cell phones, sporting goods, etc., usually pay a lower percentage of commission. Digital products and services on the other hand usually pay a much higher percentage of commission, ranging from 20% up to 80% in some cases. While you can make money selling either type of product or service, I would offer a few suggestions in choosing what type of program to align yourself with;

While the company's compensation plan is important, don't base your decision solely on the commission plan. If you have no interest in a particular type of product or service, then it makes little sense to try and market it even if the program offers a high commission payout. For example, weight loss supplements is a huge and expanding market, but do you really have any particular interest or knowledge about it? In most cases, you'll get better results marketing something you have a passion for or at least an interest in.

Can you earn residual income with this affiliate program? Some companies provide products and services that are needed on an ongoing basis. Online businesses that provide services such as webhosting, autoresponders, etc., offer you the opportunity to earn income on a continuous basis. Some of the more successful affiliate marketers earn thousands of dollars monthly through the efforts of people they have referred to an affiliate program. While you shouldn't rule out an affiliate program that doesn't offer referral commissions, marketing for one that does can be a boost to your earning potential.

c) Another thing to look for when considering an affiliate program is credibility. You can usually get a lot of information on a business just by doing a Google search. Do a search on the affiliate program to see what's been said about them on forums, and other places. Since the products that you're promoting will be an extension of yourself and your business, you want to promote products that have a good track record. Would you be comfortable promoting the products that the affiliate program offers. While some people are making a ton of money promoting adult related affiliate programs, would you be ok with that type of affiliate program?

Lastly, don't fall prey to the fast buck hustlers with their 'get rich quick' schemes. Remember the old adage, "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is." While there are some who make big money promoting affiliate programs, they have been at it for a while, and know a few things about Internet Marketing. Start with reasonable expectations such as making one sale a day. If you made just that one sale a day, and earned a $20 commission on it, you would be pulling down a nice round $600 a month. Not getting rich, but not a bad start.

Affiliate marketing can be an excellent way to get your feet wet in the Internet Marketing arena. While affiliate programs come in all shapes and sizes, remember to do your due research and keep the above tips as well as a good dose of common sense in mind when choosing an affiliate program to promote.

Do You Need A Website To Make Affiliate Marketing Revenue?

By: John Baril

You can earn affiliate marketing revenue online, irregardless of whether or not you have a website. This article will discuss the top Internet marketing strategies that work both with and without a website.

1. You can, for sure, earn affiliate marketing revenue without your own website. The following are several examples of how you can accomplish this.

You can focus on building a mailing list and then sell your products to people on that list. If you purchase co-registration leads, then you can build your list without using a landing page or any other form of website.

Your list will be automatically built because the co-registration lead business will place the leads right into your autoresponder. Once this is done, you can build relationships with these subscribers by following up regularly.

Your reputation and credibility will go up as you work on building these relationships. Now it will be easier to earn affiliate marketing revenue as you can direct your subscribers to an affiliate sales page. They will be more likely to buy as you have pre-sold them already by sending them regular email messages through your autoresponder.

Another way to earn affiliate marketing revenue without a website is to use direct methods for promoting your products. Some examples of this would be using traffic exchanges, purchasing banner ad space or using Internet based classified ads.

Once you determine how much you need to spend to create a certain amount of revenue, it becomes simply a numbers game. You can now step up your advertising expenditures because you have a good idea about how much you used to spend to make a certain amount of profit.

Now let’s look at some examples of how you can use your own website to earn affiliate marketing revenue.

When you have your own website, you are in complete control of all of the components. If you want, you can build review pages of various affiliate products and promote them like that. In this way, you can pre sell your visitors on a product before you redirect them to the affiliate sales page.

Blogging is another strategy that people use to make affiliate marketing revenue with their own website. Often, people will attach their blog to the web host so that when they make a post, their website search engine rankings will increase. You can monetize your blog by putting Google Adsense, affiliate links, banner ads and those sorts of things into your blog sidebars.

If you want, you can build landing pages, place them on your web hosting account and then promote them to build your opt in list. The bottom line is that having your own website will give you some extra flexibility to do more things.

Whether you decide to work with a website or not to earn affiliate marketing revenue comes down to personal choice. It really depends on what you want to accomplish and what methods of online marketing you are comfortable working with.

Increase Your Google Page Rank Through Article Marketing

By: Bruce Tucker

A little over twenty years ago, while I was still in college, I took up employment at a collection agency. Yes I was a bill collector, or as they titled me, a professional claims adjuster. Their title sounded less intimidating and more professional I guess. As a collector you were responsible each month for collecting a certain amount of money from people that owed your client. We worked with a computer system that let each collector check their accounts to see exactly how much money they had collected for a given month.

Most of the time you knew how much you had collected up to a certain date based on phone calls you made, payments over the phone and so on. But there were those times when you would check your account and notice a payment was posted for a person you had never even talked to. We had a term for this when it happened, called “pennies from heaven”. What this meant was you received money towards your quota without having to do any work to get it. It’s as if the payment was dropped out of “heaven”, hence the term, “pennies from heaven”.

The Google Page Rank, PR for short, and Google search results work in a similar fashion. The higher PR your website is the closer to the top of the search listings your site will appear for keywords that people search on. When a visitor is able to get to your site via a Google search result I consider that a “penny from heaven”. I do so because you were able to get a visitor without having to spend any money on advertising or marketing to do it.

The key to obtaining more “pennies from heaven” is to increase your website’s PR. The PR is a number based system starting at zero (the lowest you can be rated) to ten (the highest you can be rated). Google takes into account various factors that add to the increase of your PR, but looks most favorably upon one way links.

One way links are links that are posted on another website that point back to yours. Sure you could contact a website and ask them to post a link to your site on theirs but the chances of them of actually doing it without asking for something in return are slim and none. What if I told you not only can you get a website to post your link on theirs without having to do anything for them, but they will do it happily, gladly and do it with a smile?

The fact is that is what article marketing does. You write an informational and educational article on a subject that is related to what your website is about and you post that article on various article directories. Bloggers and other website owners looking for content for their own sites visit these article directories find your article and post it on their own website complete with a link back to your website. They are happy because they are providing fresh, quality content for their visitors and you are happy because you are getting that one way link back to your website. It is a win-win for everybody.

To get started you should write an article related to the content of your website. It should also be educational such as tips and tricks that readers of your article can use. Your article should be about 450 to 800 words in length. Once your article has been completed, do a Google search on the words “article directory”. Find a few that are appealing to you, create a free account and submit your article. Now all you have to do is repeat this process on a daily basis and your Google PR should increase in no time.

Just keep in mind that Google indexes websites about every four to six months, so if you see no change in your PR, do not despair, it will go up. Then once it does go up it won’t be too long after that pennies of your own will be dropping from heaven.

Affiliate Marketing Systems - How to Write Articles for Website Traffic!

By: Ben Holmes

Many people are looking for ways to help out their finances in these tough economic times, and end up searching online for different ways to make some extra spending money. Writing articles for to drive traffic to your affiliate offers is one of the ways that you can greatly improve your financial picture without having a rich uncle pass away and leave you in his will.

Articles you write should be targeted to specific long-tail key phrases if you want them to appear on the first few pages of Google – and should target long-tail key phrases that are popular enough to drive a sufficient amount of website traffic yet non-competitive enough to end up on the first page or two of Google.

This is a tricky task, but can be accomplished if you know how to go about it. Using Google’s keyword tool can find the keyword phrases you want – and will also tell you how many searches are conducted for that phrase each month. Selecting good phrases that have at least 100 searches every day will be the most valuable to you. Simply doing a search on the selected phrase will reveal how many unique website pages show up for that keyword phrase – and anything less than 1 million is worth targeting. If you can find phrases that have less than 1,000 competing web pages, yet has over 100 searches each day – you’ve struck oil.

Now – here’s a trick that most guru's will not show you – if you want to observe how many webpages are optimizing their website for your chosen long-tail keyword phrase, simply type intitle:"keyword phrase" – but be wary – Google will reveal to you something like this:

Results 1-10 of about 1,880 for intitle:"affiliate marketing system"

But if you are in the know, you’ll go to the bottom of the web page, and click over to the final search result page… where you’ll get a much more exact reported outcome – and many times it will be drastically different… here’s the result for the same search above:

Results 121-128 of 128 for intitle:"affiliate marketing system"

Rather a colossal difference, wouldn’t you agree? So be thorough – if you don’t take a look at the last page, you may ignore a perfectly good long-tail keyword phrase that you thought has too much competition.

Writing articles to send many visitors to the website of your choice should result in sales of up to 3% or more. For every 100 visitors you send to a affiliate sales page, you should be able to pick up 3 sales. If you end up with less than a three percent sales rate – you’ve picked the wrong affiliate product to promote, or your key phrases are not carefully chosen.

Affiliate and PPC Advertising for Blogs

By: Tom West

Writing a high quality blog takes a great deal of time and effort, so it’s only right that there is a financial reward involved. Bloggers use a variety of systems to make money online but the most popular are affiliate schemes and pay per click (PPC) advertising.

Pay per click is by no means the only method of making money from blogs. There are many different revenue raising possibilities including affiliate schemes, paid links and paid reviews. Pay per click remains the most popular system due to its ease of use.

The majority of revenue raising techniques for blogs can be quite time consuming. Unlike these other techniques, PPC advertising is usually a very quick and easy to implement solution. Pay per click adverts come in lots of different shapes and sizes, so the first stage of the solution is to choose the right adverts for your blog. There is often the temptation to hide adverts away in the lost areas of the page, but remember the more prominent your PPC campaign is the more money you will make. Also you should consider how many PPC ads blocks to run.

Most novice bloggers start with a block of PPC adverts running down the right hand side of a page. This is where people expect to find adverts so they may be less likely to notice this area of the page. Experienced blog marketers look at putting adverts in more interesting and less conventional parts of the page to get more people to look at them. They also use multiple pay per click ad blocks in different areas of the page. Using multiple adverts in different page areas can substantially increase advertising revenue.

Placing pay per click adverts on a page is usually a very simple procedure. Typically all you need to do is to choose the right advert size then put a small piece of code in the right place on your blog for the advert to appear. Unlike the more complex ways of making money online that can take hours to set up, PPC adverts can often be up and running in a matter of minutes.

Affiliate Marketing - The Truth About Earnings

by: Charlie Essmeier

Affiliate marketing is one of the most popular ways of earning money on the Internet. It offers a lot of advantages over other methods of sales, including the fact that you don't actually have to stock any inventory to make sales. As an affiliate, you only need to advertise a product and direct the customer to the sales page for the product itself, which is usually run by the retailer or creator of that product. If the customer buys, you receive a portion of the sales price, even though you didn't actually engage in a transaction or hand over product. What could be easier than that?

While the concept may be easy, most people are lured into affiliate marketing because of promises of making lots of money, rather than making money easily. You don't have to search too long on the Internet to come across a page that tells you that you can earn thousands of dollars per day as an affiliate. While the mechanism is simple, it's actually the promise of a huge volume of cash that tends to attract people to this type of business. Many people are blinded by the big numbers, however, and fail to realize how unusual it is to make huge money as an affiliate right off the bat.

You can certainly earn money as an affiliate, but those who earn the six figure incomes often have something going for them that most people do not - a huge mailing list. Having a large group of customers at the ready when a new product comes along is a large part of making a lot of money in marketing. Those who have spent years developing a large mailing list with ten thousand, twenty thousand or one hundred thousand names can often make thousands of dollars just by sending out a single e-mail advertisement. Such success is possible, but it comes as the result of years of hard work. Advertisements along the lines of "I made $30,000 in a week advertising product X" may technically be true, but they often hide the unspoken "by sending e-mail to the 250,000 people on my list!"

Building a mailing list takes time. It isn't particularly hard, but it is a vital component of making money through affiliate marketing. With a large mailing list, you have a loyal, proven group of customers who are eager to buy from you. This is far better than randomly trying to get strangers to buy whatever it is you are promoting. Anyone who is interested in trying affiliate marketing needs to take the promises of huge, six figure incomes with a grain of salt and understand that such results are not typical. That doesn't mean you can't make money, it only means that you need to have realistic expectations of how much you can earn right away. As long as you understand that you can't get rich overnight, you will be OK.

How To Make Money Online With The ClickBank Affiliate Program

by: Tom Worsley

Affiliate programs have been the backbone of the internet work from home industry since the beginning of the internet. One of the most popular affiliate programs online today is ClickBank.

ClickBank is the online distribution center for over 10,000 digital products and services. Products marketplace are promoted through our network of over 100,000 online marketers (affiliates). Each vendor selects an affiliate commission percentage for their products in advance. Affiliates promote the products, and refer interested customers to the vendor's web site.

I have been an affiliate promoting ClickBank’s vendor products and services for several years now and they have become my number 1 paying affiliate program today.

With ClickBank every link on your web site can be a source of revenue. Use the ClickBank Marketplace to find sites that will be of interest to people who visit your web site. Products are mostly electronic e-books and or online services which require no shipping and handling charges. Some of the commission pay outs are as high as 75% of the cost of the product or service.

Just last week I came across another great affiliate program that helps you make even more money online with your ClickBank affiliate program. I’ts called AffiliateSensor. And after you have signed up to become a ClickBank affiliate, you are going to want to sign up for Affiliate Sensor as well.

AffiliateSensor creates java script for you which is very similar to a Google type ad that you can place on your website, except that it includes ClickBank links fully customizable for whatever subject your website is about. They also provide you with a clickbank mall link which includes all 10,000 plus products and services from the ClickBank affiliate program.

I just recently switched my main web server’s 404 error page over to my mall link. This if someone on my website makes a typo error or tries to go to a page that does not exist, they will be referred to my ClickBank mall instead of getting a page cannot be found error.

If you have a website that you are promoting heavily and want to make money with some affiliate programs these two are a must. You can sign up for both FREE of charge at the following web page. http://bigmoolla.com/affiliate-programs.html

The ON world of OFFline marketing

By Shashank Agarwal

Ok, now if you've started reading this article thinking that its going to be the same story about the business cards carrying your logo and company name, you are right. Hey, dont reach for that back button already. Okay, since business cards is one of the best ways to publicise your site, I had to mention that. But that does not mean it ends here. Read on to discover more.

Now, I mean AFTER you've read this article, shut down your computer, give your sore eyes some rest, get that bottom out of that squeaking chair and go out, implement the publicity tricks mentioned here.

Right so, your Bermudas and t-shirts are on, but hey, that brings us to our first suggested trick. Why not wear a t-shirt that’s got your company name logo and a punch-line on it. Come on, don’t put this off the list just because you don’t want to get it printed. I've got a better reason to make you search for a screen printer in the yellow pages. You don’t get just one t-shirt done. You get a bunch of t-shirts done, depending upon your budget. And so you wear these t-shirts day in and day out, NO. You distribute it. Whatever your site is based on, its got to have some people visiting it. No matter what you do it’s impossible to have no one visiting it. You can easily get about 10 people on your site, even if you sell skunk.

But this is not what you need. You need more zeros suffixed to that 10 right, and that’s why your reading this article. Okay so find out who these visitors are, try and contact them (you could have already collected their e-mails for newsletters and ask them to send their shipping address). Now, send one of your t-shirts to them as a "gift" or "prize" for something that they have done on your site. Lets suppose if yours is a web hosting firm, they get the t-shirt as a complimentary gift. They happily wear your company’s t-shirt, because they think that they took a right decision since they are already getting returns and you get that much deserved advertisement. Now, if your budget is not astronomical, send your t-shirt across to people only from those areas where your target audience is located.

Now, as an under effect, these people will also send their friends to your site, 'coz they could also win/get something out of the site, isn't it. Now, this is where you should start thinking out of the box. You could send Bermudas (not the one your wearing), smart college bags, pens with your company name and website printed on it (really cheap, but then your 'winner' is not a moving billboard) and so on. If you target the local market, you could send a pizza delivered to your customers. You could visit a book store, meet the manager, and ask him to place a bookmark in every book that’s sold, and you guessed it, this bookmark has your company name and website written on it.

So basically the possibilities are endless. It all depends on what you are selling; target your marketing technique accordingly. But your product is that funny thing which simply cannot be marketed the way I say right. Wrong. Let’s take the example of a site selling dog food. Now tie up with a pet shop and give a free pack of your best dog biscuit to every customer who has just bought a pup. So, you see, its not that you can’t do it. It’s just that you think that you can’t do it.

Here are some whacky and weird things that I've discovered to make your product 'visible'.

- Hang your white towel in the gym in such a way that your company name sewed with red on the bottom is easily visible.

- Put your site name on your car. Remember how Mercedes is read on back of every, well, Mercedes simply self promoting it. Try to put the site name on the back, coz this is the place most people following you are going to see. Now how you balance the size and color is up to you. Make sure you don’t look desperate with that sticker. It should look as though you are running a satisfied business and it doesn’t matter (though really it does) that whether your pursuit visits the site or not.

- Send out birthday greetings to your best customers and potential customers. No, don’t start searching for e-greetings. I said greetings, physical cards. They hold a lot deeper value compared to its virtual counterpart. And it shows that you are making sincere efforts to please customers. Again, going back to the earlier formula, this will elate your customers and make them loyal customers.

- Take placard to any sporting event. Lets suppose soccer. Go to support your home team in a home match. Take along with you some placards that have a suggest score line with victory to home team written on it, and your site address nicely fixed on the bottom line. Distribute this in the crowd, who first of all display it all around for the T.V. cameras to catch it and then they take it home, preserve it for some time, see your site name often and now become customers. Simple, huh.

Now, one very useful trick to promote your site is one which exists right in our campuses. Confused? Well, let’s clarify. University, college or school students are a great way to put your product across. Its like all bowling pins are stacked together and you just need to roll the ball. Metaphorical. Let’s say, you've got a firm selling pets. Now, you could go meet the principal/head/president (or whoever is the authority) to hold a quiz competition in their campus about nature and wildlife or geography or anyother topic which would exhibit your product. Now, this is where you are getting loads and loads of publicity. Try making this a city effort, a state effort, whatever your pocket can handle, and hold these final inter-college events in your premises (hire a hall if you don’t have a decent enough premise). Contact the press; they would love to put your event on page three. Moreover, the students, their friends and all will also become aware about your services.

You could use other competitions also. It might be a karate competition, if your selling martial arts goods, a poster-making competition if your selling stationary, a elocution or debate instead of the quiz and the possibilities are endless.

You could also sponsor a lecture/seminar by people who have been in the field and would not overwhelm you with their charges. This could also get a good press coverage, and if not that, at least a mention in the events section of the news-paper, whereby your companies name is disclosed.

So, having said all this, I don’t think you would disagree that there's a wired world out there. The sky is the limit for such ideas, and if you get some, please inform me as well. Find contact details in the About the Author section

What is Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is a business promotion technique in which revenue is shared between a website owner and an online business. It is an Internet-based marketing technique through which e-commerce affiliates are rewarded for bringing in customers.

Wondering what an e-commerce affiliate is? Well, a website that links back to an e-commerce site with the intent of gaining a commission for the referral, is known as an affiliate. Also, bloggers and members of online forums function as e-commerce affiliates.

History of Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing originated from the practice of revenue sharing in which business revenue is shared between business affiliates. In late 1994, the concept of revenue sharing evolved into Internet affiliate marketing.

CDNOW was the first website to feature affiliate marketing. It was a music-oriented website that provided the Internet users with facilities to view lists of music videos and albums and also purchase the albums online. Soon, the e-commerce websites became a vital component of Internet marketing.

Web 2.0 services such as social networking, blogging and video sharing gave a further boost to the affiliate marketing industry. Gambling and retail industries were some of the prominent players in this field. The cell phones business, finance sector and the tourism industry are expected to reap the maximum benefits from affiliate marketing in the coming years.

Types of Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing refers to the practice of business sharing between online businesses and online sales people. The percentage of the profits shared, depends on the amount of sales and the number of website hits. Some of the common ways of making money through affiliate marketing are pay-per-click advertising, pay-per-sale advertising, loyalty websites, email lists, comparison-shopping, weblogs and pay-per-lead advertising. Let us take a closer look at some of the important forms of affiliate marketing.

Pay-Per-Click: It refers to an Internet advertising model wherein an advertiser pays if a user clicks on an advertisement. In this advertising technique, advertisements relevant to the web page content are displayed along with the content. This increases the chances of web users clicking on the advertisements. Depending on the number of clicks an advertisement receives, websites charge the advertisers.

Comparison Shopping: There are several online shopping websites and shopping portals on the Internet. Many of them display price comparison lists of the products they offer for sale. Many shopping portals support price comparison services, whereby users can compare the cost-effectiveness of competitive products and services before the actual purchase.

Pay-Per-Lead: In this form of affiliate marketing, whenever a client registers at a merchant’s website as a result of an advertisement on the affiliate’s website, a stipulated amount of money is given to the affiliate.

Pay-Per-Sale: In this method of affiliate marketing, for every sale resulting from the advertisements featured on an affiliate’s website, a share of the profit is given to the affiliate.

Business Promotion through Websites: Many websites offer reward-based purchase offers. They offer discounts and rebates to the customers who choose to buy online. Some of them offer free delivery services to the customers. Others feature product reviews and articles about products and services, thereby encouraging the readers to buy them. Some businesses prefer to use personal websites to communicate with their potential customers. Personal websites, have in fact, been a major contributing factor to the emergence of affiliate marketing.

Emails, Blogs, Forums: Small businesses often use email marketing techniques to achieve business promotion. They use emails for developing customer relationships and obtaining customer feedback. Emails are often used to carry advertisements and promotional messages. Businesses can explain their business role and talk about their products and services through blogs. Forums serve as online platforms for interaction with customers.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing has led to the emergence of several online companies and Internet marketers. Internet serves as the most effective platform for business promotion as it can target a large customer base. Merchants are not required to search for their customers. Rather, customers come searching for them!

An affiliate marketer does not require making huge investments. Moreover, he/she does not have to worry about customer support and record keeping. All, an affiliate marketer needs to do is work towards promoting and reselling the product.

The potential of creating income is another important advantage of affiliate marketing. Both business merchants and websites benefit from affiliate marketing, without any additional expenditure of time or money. In fact, implementing affiliate marketing strategies does not require any technical expertise. Adding more websites to an affiliate marketing program to cover a wider range of products and services can increase one’s earning potential. As long as the consumers continue with online business transactions, there is no stopping for affiliate marketing.

One of the major disadvantages of affiliate marketing is that the affiliates may indulge in illegal and unethical Internet advertising practices. They may mislead the readers through false advertisements. An illegal use of brand names and company logos is common in affiliate marketing.

Spamming is another major disadvantage of affiliate marketing. Some affiliates tend to use email spams to promote their business. Others create webpages, which are aimed at manipulating the indexing strategies of search engines.

Affiliate marketing does not conform to industry standards and lacks central regulation. Affiliate marketing practices make use of social networking websites, online forums and other aspects of the Internet for advertising their products and services. As the Internet offers free access to users, it is difficult to implement any regulatory measures on its use. Currently, there are no training courses or certifications for affiliate marketing. Perhaps, there is a pressing need to standardize affiliate marketing strategies and practices.

The rising popularity of online sale and purchase has resulted in the growth of the affiliate marketing sector. Affiliate marketing has given a new dimension to the online business arena. It is here to stay!

Imagine starting with no experience and building an online business that brings you more than $435,000 dollars a year. Well that's exactly what Rosalind did.

Affiliate Marketing Tutorial Secrets Revealed

One of the most efficient forms of today’s internet marketing is the affiliate marketing, and this article is designed as an affiliate marketing tutorial. This is mainly because many people know that money can be earned online, but they don’t know exactly how to do that. For many, affiliate marketing may be the answer, as it requires less effort, having an own product to sell isn’t mandatory, and it can bring reasonable profits.

Definition: Affiliate marketing is the action of referring your visitors to a merchant’s website, and getting a commission out of that merchant’s sales if the buyer was a person you referred. Although it can be done even without having a website of your own, it is better if you design one. Choosing an appropriate field for you, doing some quality research and finding good affiliate programs are all very important processes, which have to be dealt with a lot of involvement and perseverance.

And first thing’s first. Before you actually build your website, you have to think about how it is going to look, what it’s going to be about. Just sit down and start a brainstorming process. It is recommended you organize everything well, and write everything down. Find a subject you feel confident about, and start taking notes about the competition, affiliate programs, everything. You have to think of it as a serious project, and every good project needs a good sketch.

Now, once you’ve made your sketch, start designing your website accordingly. Buy a domain, preferably a .com one, because these are the ones that people trust the most. Now, if you are not a programmer, then you should hire one for designing your website according to your specifications. Even though it’s going to cost you some money, if you do it right, that amount should come back as profits multiplied many times.

Your website should look professional, the hallmark of a person who knows what he’s talking about. You should respect your visitors with quality content, if you want this internet marketing strategy to be successful. And although this affiliate marketing tutorial tells you what to do, it ultimately depends on you if it is going to work or not.

Now, once you’ve designed the site, it’s time to get some traffic in. There are many online marketing tactics to do that, and you could also consider hiring a Search Engine Optimizer to get you high ratings on Google searches for your site. If you can’t afford one, don’t lose hope, because there are many SEO tutorials available on the web. You can catch on a few of these important SEO techniques and try to do it yourself. Apply al this information to your sketch and continue working on your project.

Now that you’ve managed to get a decent amount of traffic to your site, it’s time to introduce you to the new term, which is conversion rate. The conversion rate shows you how many of your visitors actually click on the links of your affiliate partners and buy something from them. Taking into consideration that you don’t have a product of your own, your approach in increasing your conversion rate should be pre-selling. What do I mean by "pre-selling"? Let’s put it this way. The content of your site is the one which actually forwards your visitors to your affiliate partners’ links. I mean, if you have a very high quality content site, your visitors will unknowingly be much more open-minded about visiting the links you display. Keeping in mind that you don’t actually have a product of your own, it’s better not to have an aggressive looking page or your visitors will exit immediately. Also, choose the best affiliate partners in your field, and don’t try to put so many links on your page. You need 3 or 4 quality partners at the most.

The rest is history. With a lot of involvement, professionalism, dedication and a little bit of luck, you can design a site which has the potential of being your cash machine. Once the whole mechanism starts to work, you don’t have to do anything as it will run by itself. OK, maybe a few adjustments from time to time, but nothing too complicated. With the hope that this affiliate marketing tutorial has shed some light on the subject, grab a pen and design your sketch!

Google Adsense Vs Affiliate Programs

By : Pawel Reszka

Google Adsense is a structured way to earn good money out of what Google makes from its advertisers on Adwords. The way it works is that advertisers pay top dollar to get their ads listed on Google. Google gets paid on every click that happens on the ad. By distributing the ads on your website and mine, they stand to gain more exposure, regain advertising funds quicker and also pay us good money!

Why you benefit?

The reason Adsense has become so popular is because it allows websites like ours to earn good money from the commissions Google receives from advertisers. By just placing a couple of ads on the site, you can earn a good commission percentage. However, there are certain drawbacks that an Adsense program has.

What it can do for your site

One good thing about Adsense is its immediate ability to boost your page ranking and popularity on search engines. That way you tend to receive a lot of traffic to your affiliate site. Also, people with affiliate programs on their site can actually look at Adsense as an alternate way of supplementing their income. Adsense lets you monitor which ads are performing and earning you most income. They do this by placing some Javascript code into your site which monitors the performance. Most of the time the traffic that comes to your site will most likely not find what they are looking for, on your site alone. That's where Adsense helps you. Even if customers don't find what they're looking for on your site, they can still visit the ads sponsored by Adsense and help provide you additional income. It basically provides you an alternate path to earn money online.

The context

In order to make your Adsense program most profitable as part of your affiliate program, you need to ensure you have contextual and relevant ads placed on your site. Else it defeats the very purpose. You want customers to click on these ads if they don't find something on your site. Hence it needs to be closely related to your website theme and your own products. Most contextual ads are characterized by lots of clicks but poor conversion rates. So make sure to test these ads out before placing them on your site. Pros and cons Both affiliate marketing and Google's Adsense have their own pitfalls and benefits. Here we explain the pros and cons of each.

Google Adsense:

Pros:

- Good for informational sites which do not have associated affiliate products to sell

- It allows you to create a content page without worrying about updating the content

- Very scalable. Adsense sites are low maintenance which make these good for the upkeep of multiple sites.

Cons:

- Not a good income generator when considering long term opportunities. It's because mailing lists are best for building customer relations. In Adsense you aren't asking for a subscription, instead just asking customers to click on ads.

- Search engine dependency. Adsense sites predominantly depend on the search engines to divert traffic. Hence if by chance an algorithm changes on a search engine, you risk losing a lot of income and traffic in the process.

Affiliate marketing:

Pros:

- More long term in nature which allows you to build on assets and customer relations

- Main focus is on creating and building email lists since they are the backbone for all promotional efforts

- Allows you to focus on a niche segment you like. This is unlike an Adsense program which tends to focus on only high paying keywords.

Cons:

- Involves the use and skill over persuasive tactics in order to coax customers to visit the site and buy products. For novices, this can be a difficult aspect.

- Every site needs plenty of effort. You need to spend time in creating product reviews, email list creation as well as web content creation - which can take up considerable time.

Balance it out

Both Adsense as well as affiliate marketing have their own advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, the best approach would be to balance the two to maximize your income potential online. You could have content on your site which you are interested in, while combining it with Adsense revenues.

By : Mohd Firuz Fahmi Bin Yusoff

Amazon, watch out. Earlier today, Google launched an affiliate ad network. Or, rather, it rebranded Performics, the affiliate ad network that came along with its purchase of DoubleClick, as the "Google Affiliate Network." As with other affiliate networks such as Amazon's, participating Website publishers get paid a fee for each referral that results in a sale. Existing advertisers include Bank of America, Barnes & Noble, Citi, Target, and Verizon.

Google constantly looking for ways to improve AdSense by developing and supporting features which drive the best monetization results for our publishers. For this reason, they will be retiring the AdSense Referrals program during the last week of August.

Performics was founded as the first full-service affiliate network in 1998 and was acquired by DoubleClick in 2004. Today Performics Affiliate operates as Google Affiliate Network and remains committed to delivering affiliate channel growth for advertisers and publishers

As part of the integration of DoubleClick, the DoubleClick Performics Affiliate Network will now operate as the Google Affiliate Network for advertisers targeting users located in the United States. How A Google Affiliate Can Use Curiosity To Get More Clicks And More Dollars

By Christopher Kyalo

Most Google affiliates do not know that curiosity is one of the strongest of human incentives. It has been used to sell countless products and services for centuries. This is the reason why you should ask yourself he question, is there enough curiosity at my Google affiliate site?

Curiosity will get you sales and it will certainly get you plenty of clicks on your Google affiliate sites. But how do you generate curiosity without making visitors to your site feel cheated? Or feel that you have not provided enough information? Actually there is nothing that can kill the popularity of a site faster than most visitors to a site getting either of these two sentiments towards a site.

Use Headlines To Generate Curiosity At Your Google Affiliate Sites

Do your Google affiliate headlines create enough curiosity? Or do they simply tell the whole story so that nobody bothers to click on them to read more? Headlines are critical to the amount of clicks that a person is able to achieve at their Google affiliate site. Firstly enough curiosity in a headline will get visitors in droves flocking at your site. Once they are there, chances of them clicking on any of your ads will heavily depend on how long they stick around. And how long they stick around will lean heavily on how much content they get to read while they are there.

Whether your Google affiliate site is a blog or website, it will have several headlines to your articles displayed on your home page. Most people are terribly busy and hurried when they are online. The truth is that there is too much to see and too little time available to see it. What this means is that visitors to your site will be extremely selective on what they end up clicking on.

The more curiosity you create in your headlines, the longer they will stay, and the more questions that will be created on their minds. The result of this will be many more clicks at your Google affiliate site.

Answer Questions Adequately but Ask Others To Generate Curiosity At Your Google Affiliate Sites

Give valuable useful information in your Google affiliate site content but make sure that in doing so, you create other questions and thus more curiosity in your readers and hunger for more information. Have you ever noticed that when you find some really valuable information on a subject, it encourages you to look for even more information? This puts visitors to a site in just the right mood to click on one or two interesting Adsense ads that they see.

Use Links To Other Sites To Generate Curiosity At Your Google Affiliate Sites

I have found that my Google affiliate sites, which have plenty of links leading to other sites, tend to achieve many more clicks, than those that are packed with only content and few or no links to other sites. It all comes down to the curiosity levels created by giving your content in the form of brief text and links rather than detailed content with no links.

Use text Links Within The Content To Generate Curiosity At Your Google Affiliate Sites

Text links buried deep inside interesting content work like a dream. The main reason is probably the fact that they do look like ads. But one of the reasons has to be the curiosity most of these text links tend to create in a reader. You can use these effective text links to get more traffic to your Google affiliate sites. More traffic to your content-packed but curiosity-filled Google affiliate sites will mean many more clicks at your Adsense ads displayed and much more cash generated for you.
